“Ressentiment” is the 3rd full length album by Meishi Smile. A projection of the self. The negative reflection. The systematic ego now broken in confrontation and wrath.

The first album by Meishi Smile in 5 years was originally intended to be much lighter. A fully completed album entitled “Limerence” was ready until the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and increased civil unrest.Thus began a new response to the times - a fully written album in several months including the now formed Meishi Smile band with Fei (Vocals, Production), Sílva (Guitar), Jason (Bass) and Zachary Roy (Drums).

The songs detail the cosmic wrath of God, misanthropic views of humanity, systematic violence, and the transition of gender and self in the refute of the corporeal.

Though “Ressentiment” is the harshest Meishi Smile album yet, it is overall a generational love letter to the anger and hope of youth.
